The ŽIROVNICA & RADOVLJICA: Cultural charm & Michelin gastronomy" study tour invites you on a scenic train journey from Kranj to explore two small but very homey and charming places, both Slovenia Green Silver destinations. This excursion perfectly captures the essence of the region by intertwining deep-rooted cultural heritage with world-class, sustainable gastronomy.
Our morning begins in Žirovnica, where we discover Slovenia’s first and oldest thematic route: the Žirovnica Cultural Heritage Route. Here, you will feel the historic charm of Matija Čop‘s birth house and learn the inspiring story behind the newly built Trivrh Hotel. From there, we continue our journey to Radovljica, a town known as an "Honestly Sweet" place. Radovljica stands out for its innovative gastronomic experiences that focus on connecting local businesses and strengthening the regional supply chain. We will discover the secret corners of this historical town on a guided tour.
The absolute highlight of the day is a culinary experience at Hiša Linhart. We will enjoy lunch in this exceptional restaurant, which boasts one Michelin Star, a Michelin Green Star for sustainability, and a Slovenia Green label. Led by the renowned chef Uroš Štefelin, the restaurant is a masterclass in sustainability, as he masterfully preserves traditional local dishes and ingredients, carrying them into the future. This tour offers a firsthand look at how culture and top-tier gastronomy can drive sustainable tourism development.
