The Picturesque PIRAN & UNESCO Wonders of Škocjan Caves" study tour is a mesmerizing two-day bus journey from Kranj that brings together the cultural charm of the Mediterranean coast and the majestic heritage of the Karst region.
We start by visiting Piran, a Slovenia Green Silver destination, where you will walk through its historic city centre and narrow streets to truly experience the authentic vibe of Slovenian Istria. After enjoying a traditional snack at the historic Hiša Tartini, we explore the Strunjan Landscape Park. Here, you will learn about its unique habitats and traditional salt pans, and visit its Slovenia Green awarded Visitor Centre. The journey then takes us to Marezige, the proud home of the first wine fountain in Slovenia, to taste superb local wines before having a delicious lunch in a nearby local restaurant. The afternoon is dedicated to Lipica, the historic cradle of the Lipizzaner horses, where we will enjoy an overnight stay and breakfast in a certified Slovenia Green hotel.
Second day begins with an inspiring guided tour of the historic Lipica Stud Farm to learn about the rich heritage of the famous white Lipizzaner breed. Next, we travel to the breathtaking Škocjan Caves, a UNESCO World Heritage site, to explore one of the world’s most impressive and monumental karst phenomena. This remarkable two-day adventure concludes with a relaxed lunch on the way back to Kranj, offering a perfect overview of Slovenia's natural and cultural diversity.
