The BLED & BOHINJ: Two icons, two amazing lakes, two responsibilities" study tour invites you on an active journey into the heart of the Julian Alps. Travelling by bus from Kranj, this excursion explores how two of Slovenia’s most famous natural treasures manage the responsibilities of high-profile tourism through innovation, respect for locals, and care for the environment.

We begin our day in Bled, a world-renowned tourist icon and a proud Slovenia Green Gold destination. Here, you will explore the stunning landscape and discover firsthand how the destination successfully encourages responsible visitor behavior, engages its local residents, and supports sustainable tourism services. During the visit, you will get to know the authentic Bled Local Selection brand and even have the chance to create your own unique edible souvenir. Of course, no visit to Bled would be complete without tasting its most iconic dessert, so you will get to enjoy a delicious mini-Bled cream cake, the legendary 'Kremšnita'.

From Bled, we head deeper into nature to Bohinj, a gem on the edge of the Triglav National Park. We will be welcomed by the destination for lunch at the beautiful, re-designed Hotel Bohinj. Afterward, we will explore why Bohinj was the very first destination to achieve the Slovenia Green Platinum label and see why it is one of the most inspirational places for sustainability. The day concludes with a peaceful, panoramic electric boat ride on Lake Bohinj, accompanied by a local guide.

Tour Start & End

The meeting point for this tour is Kranj Center, at approximately 7:45 AM. The programme is expected to finish with a return to Kranj at around 5:00 PM.

Group size and minimum number of participants

The number of participants on this tour is limited. A minimum of 20 participants is required for the tour to operate, while the maximum group size is 25 participants.

We reserve the right to cancel the programme if the minimum number of participants is not reached. In this case, clients will first be offered the option to join an alternative tour, subject to availability. If no suitable alternative can be provided, a full refund will be issued.
